The Peabody Swim Team made a splash recently at two middle school meets! On January 20th, the team competed at Smith Aquatic Center in Field School’s 4th Annual Middle School Meet. At this meet with six local school teams, each swimmer entered two individual events and they beat their personal best times almost across the board. Walker D. and Georgia W. earned points for the team by placing 1st and 2nd in their events, and Peabody swam hard in two girls’ and two boys’ relays. On January 28th, Lyndsey S., Maggie T.,  and Walker D.,  traveled to Warrenton to represent Peabody in the 10th Annual VISAA JV Invitational where they competed against 16 other teams from all over Virginia. Most of the teams were comprised of 15-25 swimmers in grades 6-9, but also some older high school swimmers competed. While we did not earn points from relays, our team of three scored in individual events with several top 10 and even 2nd place finishes, resulting in the Peabody Boys team placing 9th overall and the Peabody Girls placing 12th! We are so proud of all of our swimmers and excited that Peabody has a new team in our athletic program!
