Why does Peabody need an Annual Fund in addition to tuition?
Tuition covers only part of the cost of a Peabody education. Like most independent schools, Peabody strives to keep our tuition as affordable as possible, and relies on giving to the Annual Fund to round out our yearly budget.
What does the Annual Fund support?
The Annual Fund is our top fundraising priority, and the unrestricted dollars raised each year give Peabody the flexibility to support our Peabody students and teachers in many ways. These funds allow us to compensate our faculty at a competitive level, support our athletics and fine arts programs, help us maintain our grounds and facilities, and ensure our teachers have the resources and training they need to excel as educators.
When should I make my Annual Fund gift?
Annual Fund gifts are accepted each year beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30. Our faculty, staff, and Board typically make their gifts in October each year, with the Annual Fund launching publicly to our community in November. Many donors choose to make gifts before December 31. We welcome your contribution at any time!
How much should I give?
Annual Fund gifts range from $5 to more than $25,000. A gift of any size demonstrates your commitment to Peabody, and your belief in our mission. In 2024-2025, the average annual fund gift was approximately $1,000. Every gift matters!
Is Peabody eligible for employer matching gift programs?
Yes! Please ask your employer about Matching Gift Programs that support non-profit organizations. This is a great way to double and sometimes triple your gift to Peabody.
What about other gifts I make to Peabody? Do my contributions to other campaigns go to the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is Peabody’s top fundraising priority, and we ask that it be your first gift to Peabody each year. There are many other ways to support Peabody’s specific fundraising priorities. For more information, visit peabodyschool.org/support/ourfunds
How can I make a gift?
Are gifts tax deductible?
Yes, Peabody is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and most Annual Fund contributions are tax deductible when applicable.
How can I check to see if I already donated / if I donated last year?

Can I pledge now and pay later?
Yes, to make an Annual Fund pledge, please visit our Annual Fund giving form and select Pledge.
Does my gift to the Annual Fund support teacher appreciation?
Yes! While for many years Peabody offered parents an option to make monetary contributions for teacher holiday and end-of-year gifts, since 2023, holiday and end-of-year appreciation are now funded by our Annual Fund. We appreciate your support of our Annual Fund that helps us to celebrate our amazing faculty and staff! The Peabody Parent Association will occasionally ask for non-monetary contributions to support teacher appreciation events, and families are always welcome to show appreciation to individual teachers as desired.
