We are pleased to congratulate 8th grade student, Jonah Weissman, for winning first place in the poetry competition of the 27th Annual Writer’s Eye Competition in Prose and Poetry sponsored by the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia. The Writer’s Eye contest received 1,511 entries this year. To be a first place winner out of this large number of entries is quite an honor. Way to go, Jonah!

We would also like to recognize Elisabeth Barr, our Middle School English teacher, for organizing Peabody Middle School’s trip to the Fralin Museum of Art. We are grateful to Mrs. Barr for encouraging her students to write and supporting them in participating in the Writer’s Eye competition.
