Peabody is very proud of 8th grader Julia N, who was selected as 2nd chair for flute for the High School Youth Symphony, which is part of the Youth Orchestra of Central Virginia (YOSC). Founded in 1977, the Youth Symphony is the senior orchestra and consists of approximately 50 members, ranging from grades 9 to 12, performing original orchestral masterworks. Julia was also selected to be in the Charlottesville Flute Ensemble, another YOSC program. To learn more: www.yocva.org

And please congratulate 8th graders Anya L. and Kiran K-S., and 7th grader Kat R., who all auditioned and were selected to be a part of the middle school YOSC program called the Evans Orchestra. The Rita M. Evans Orchestra was founded in 1984 and consists of approximately 60 middle school and junior high musicians, performing arranged orchestral works. Anya also plays in the Traditional Ensemble for the Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS).

We are so proud of you!
